QCG launches new job evaluation tool

As our client organisations undergo change, refocus their business and/or look to reduce costs, we are often asked to help them assess the relative worth of their roles as an important step to aligning their structures and reward practices.

However, while some clients do not have a job evaluation tool of their own, others find their existing systems bureaucratic and out of touch with their current values or ways of working.

In response to this demand, we are pleased to announce that we have developed our own job evaluation tool, the QCG Profiler.

The importance of ‘fairness’ in today’s climate cannot be underestimated. But job evaluation is not always straightforward. By its very nature it requires a degree of judgement and analysis. Yet many evaluation tools on the market are not used effectively because they are too time and resource intensive, and too bureaucratic in process. The QCG Profiler is different.

Why use the QCG Profiler?

Based on a bespoke factor plan, the QCG Job Profiler provides a completely fresh approach to job sizing. While its analytical base gives protection on Equal Value issues, the up to date factor definitions capture modern day expectations of role and contribution required to deliver business results. In short, the QCG Profiler is:

  • Lighter touch and more straightforward to use than many analytic evaluation tools – it gets the best out of evaluation without over-complicating bureaucracy;
  • Flexible in design.  With a robust core version ‘readymade’, its language and levels can be adapted to fit what matters in your organisation;
  • Designed by practitioners. We know what job evaluation is about and can help you apply it in a wider performance and reward management context;
  • More outcomes-based than many analytical job evaluation tools. It focuses on the required contribution of the role rather than detailed job tasks, enabling you to make explicit the link between step changes in accountability, contribution and reward / compensation;
  • Easy to update as the world changes, therefore enabling it be become a strategic management tool;
  • On site or web-enabled, requiring limited technical support;
  • Able to reduce the time HR and management need for evaluations;
  • Supported by assistance in design, implementation and operation of the system, and training modules for staff, managers and practitioners – so you can be self sufficient.
