QCG Reward Leaders' Forum

Director, Reward:

"Just to say thanks for inviting me to the reward forum today and well done, I thought it was an excellent event. QCG’s data and how you used that gave some excellent content for the subsequent discussion where people landed the issues in a lot of detail in their own organisation".

Head of Remuneration & Benefits:

“Good mix of companies represented at the right level to ensure good dialogue – and good grouping of us to make the best use of break-out discussions. Thank you.”

What is the Reward Leaders' Forum?

QCG launched the Reward Leaders' Forum (RLF) in 2009, under the banner, ‘Reward: Recession & Beyond Steering Group’ at the time. The Forum is made up of around 20 top reward professionals from major organisations across general industry. Many of them have international reward remits bringing an international (as well as UK) dimension to the RLF’s agenda and activities.

The RLF meets at intervals during the year to take a cool and clear-headed look at the most challenging ‘issues of the day’ facing Reward Leaders. Its primary purpose is to combine the members’ collective brainpower and experience in determining how best to address key reward (and important related) challenges. QCG’s role is to facilitate the meetings, provide expert analysis (e.g. from our industry surveys) and share our own knowledge and expertise with the group.

What has the Reward Leaders' Forum achieved?

The RLF has already collectively explored a number of important ‘issues of the day’. These include:

How to engage, motivate and retain in such an uncertain, or otherwise constrained, operating environment?

How to get performance alignment right when the economic landscape is still so hard to read, performance and development opportunities may be very limited, and external scrutiny of payouts is bound to be increasingly vigorous?

How to maximise benefits effectiveness – how to measure the value you’re getting, and how to use benefits to attract the skills and leaders you need for the future?

How to improve performance management – integrating it with broader business management (rather than just the HR perspective), and how to use it to support workforce and capability planning e.g. for re-skilling, downsizing / selection for redundancy and talent development?

Coming soon

We will shortly be announcing a series of RLF Issue Panels which will take place during May and June 2010. Each Issue Panel will look at a particular topic which is generating a lot of interest and debate in the market at the moment – more on this very soon. The Issue Panels will be held at a central London venue.
