Pay Negotiations in a Tough Business Climate
Best practice and innovations in planning
The Project
We were asked by a major FMCG brand to conduct up-to-date industry research on approaches and new thinking in regard to pay negotiations planning and strategies. Our private sector client base includes a large number of blue-chip organisations for whom we frequently conduct research and benchmarking on key topics in the reward and HR field. Our FMCG client, in this case, asked us to draw on our industry contacts to identify best practice and any innovations in planning for negotiations, set against a backdrop of high inflation and tight commercial pressures on margins.
Our role
We worked with our client to understand the business context for their negotiations and developed a structured interview guide to research industry practices. Over a couple of months we interviewed nearly twenty major companies across UK industry, culminating in a day’s seminar event for all the participant organisations in which we facilitated a lively discussion on key learnings and new thinking in regard to pay negotiations.
Outcome
We delivered a comprehensive report on best practice in major UK industry, along with a successful discussion group attended by the participant companies.
