Creating a Commercial Focus
Designing a commercial focus as part of re-structuring
The Project
As part of a long-standing relationship with this organisation we have assisted them with various aspects of a major organisational change programme. Part of this was to establish a more market focused and performance orientated culture linked to their business change programme. Working closely with the HRD and the top team we delivered a practical approach which meets operational and employee needs and expectations.
Our Role
We engaged with senior teams and other employee groups to align business requirements with employee needs. One of the outputs was the creation of four distinct ‘job families’ reflecting very different employee groups. Once the delineations had been drawn we worked with the business leaders to define relevant HR policies and practices that would reflect market practice, motivate the employees in each group, and deliver to the business objectives.
Outcome
The implementation of the new systems was a complex task and led by a dedicated QCG project manager. Engagement with staff was fundamental to how these significant changes were perceived across the organisation. The system has been implemented and has been embedded into the business. Overall, the organisation has achieved major efficiencies to the bottom line and to the way it operates.
