Nick is an experienced HR consulting professional, with 11+ years’ experience. He joined QCG in 2004. He has led and contributed to numerous reviews of pay and grading, and performance management. His work typically focuses on stakeholder engagement to clarify strategic requirements, audit of current systems and external market benchmarking, and developing design recommendations for new pay and performance management systems. As well as facilitating engagement and consultation exercises, he has led implementation programmes. He is experienced in working with senior teams, consulting with TUs, running staff surveys and focus groups, and in the public sector compiling pay remit submissions including liaison with parent / sponsor government departments.
Other experience includes: reviews of business processes and skills requirements; helping to develop enhanced governance arrangements; leading the annual top executive pay review for a national museum; a review of a hi-tech commercial business’ company car policy; training a regional government’s HR staff in market pricing techniques and leading the design and delivery of QCG’s pay surveys in the regulatory, heritage and aviation sectors.
Prior to joining QCG, Nick set up and led his own consultancy business. Before this venture, he was a Managing Consultant in the financial recruitment and resourcing sector. He began his professional life as an English teacher. Nick holds a BA (Hons) from Warwick University and is currently studying the CIPD Advanced Certificate in Reward Management. |
